Essential Care Training Managed for you
Our essential care training packages allow you to pick and mix a number of courses to meet the needs of your organisation and your individual staff We will help you to prepare individual training plans, track the training we deliver for you, keep CPD records for your staff and provide certificates for all courses. Full records will be maintained of all training undertaken to support you in meeting CQC workforce specific requirements for training.
Mandatory training is not funded through the Skills Funding Agency, so there may be a cost for some courses such as First Aid and Food Safety qualifications. Please confirm current prices with our office on 0113 2396540.
Food Safety in the Workplace
This course provides a basic awareness of food hygiene and includes: legislation and policy on food handling; causes of food poisoning; cross contamination; personal hygiene; dress codes; cleaning and temperature control; pests etc.
Food and Nutrition for Older People
This course provides a basic awareness of food and nutrition requirements of older people, including advice on types of food, how to provide the help and encouragement they need to eat a balanced diet.
Equality and Diversity
This qualification has been developed for learners who wish to gain a basic understanding of equality and diversity and to explore the attitudes and barriers people face and identify how they can be prevented.
Health and Safety Awareness
This course is a brief and basic overview of the legislation, policy and practice that relates to RIDDOR, COSHH and Fire Awareness.
Moving and Handling People
The aims and objectives of this course are to give staff information and training in Moving and Handling People. It covers areas such as legislation, safe moving and handling techniques, moving people and the importance of good posture.
Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults
This course will enable the care worker to explore the legislation, policy and procedures that relate to the safeguarding of vulnerable people. It will be of particular interest to residential and domiciliary care workers including: carers, supervisors, trainers and managers working with older people; vulnerable adults and service users living in their own home.
The aims and objectives of this course are to give staff information and training in Fire Safety. It covers areas such as fire legislation, basic fire prevention,
causes of fire, evacuation procedures.

Emergency First Aid at Work for the Care Sector
Our First Aid course for the Care Sector will include training on basic first aid procedures covering recovery position, assessing dangerous situations, how and when to obtain help, contents of the first aid box, falls and fractures, heart attack, diabetes, strokes, unconsciousness, choking, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, bleeding and shock.

Personalised care planning aims to ensure that people with long term conditions are more involved in decisions about their care through a care planning discussion. It encompasses the legal requirements of record keeping, and the need for clear and coherent plans that can be followed by others.
